WJCC Scholarship Fund Awards Scholarships to Area Graduates
The WJCC Community Scholarship Fund of the Williamsburg Community Foundation awarded $43,950.00 in named and general scholarships to 49 graduating seniors from Lafayette, Jamestown, and Warhill High Schools at awards assemblies in June.
Lafayette High School:
Emily Kimminau - The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation Scholarship ($1000);
Sharon Li - The SunTrust Bank Scholarship ($1300);
Alexandra Ptachick - The Virginia Gazette Scholarship ($1200);
Elizabeth Madison – The Bette Williams Birthday Club Scholarship;
Sophia Dixon - The Williamsburg Lions’ Club Scholarship ($1000);
Susanna Schmidt – The Toano Women’s Club Scholarshop ($1000);

The WJCC Community Scholarship Fund of the Williamsburg Community Foundation began in 1974 as the Lafayette Education Fund and has grown over the last 36 years schools to provide scholarships to graduating seniors from the three WJCC high schools. In 2009 the fund joined the Williamsburg Community Foundation. Scholarships are funded through donations from the community and sales of Smart Diner Cards.
