Williamsburg Community Foundation Celebrates its 10th Anniversary The Williamsburg Community Foundation
hosted over 450 guests on November 22, 2009
at the Virginia Room of the Williamsburg Lodge
to honor its 10 years of community enrichment.
A gala committee chaired by Millie West and
consisting of people who
played a significant role in
WCF’s past, spent more
than a year planning the
blacktie
affair. They
wanted the evening to be
full of fun, dance, and an
appreciation for the
impact WCF has made on
the surrounding
community over the past decade.

Guests danced the night away to the music of
Glen Boswick’s Sound of Swing band and were
entertained by Iveta and Gherman, reigning
world champion ball room dancers.
A video commemorating the history of WCF was
premiered. Interviews with significant
benefactors and the Foundation’s leaders past
and present were included. Also, profiles of
grant recipients were featured to show the
impact that the past decade of WCF grant
making had on the
surrounding community.
The video can be viewed here..
At the end of the program
the final numbers for the
Chairman Challenge
fundraising initiative
were announced. 83
funds were created raising nearly $800,000,
which will result in the Community Endowment
reaching $1 million in the next few years.
Overall the Gala was a huge success. The
Foundation would like to thank its generous
corporate partners for their help in making it a
night to remember.
