Annual Meeting 2006

At the Annual Meeting of the Williamsburg Community Foundation area residents Rex Ellis, Jane Taylor, Karen Jamison, and Timothy Sullivan (L to R below) were elected to serve on the Board of Trustees of the Williamsburg Community Foundation.

They will fill slots vacated by retiring Trustees, Bobbye Alexander, Robert Cornelius, Mary Humelsine, and Joe Montgomery.  The retiring Trustees, all founders of the Foundation, were honored for their service through Foundation’s first six years.

In addition to the new Trustees, Michael Fox, Kerry Mellette, Marc Sharp, and Russell Tabb were re-elected to a second term on the board.  The officers elected are John Jamison, Chairman; John Curtis, Vice Chairman; Vernon Geddy, Treasurer; and Betsy Schmidt, Secretary.

Also at the meeting, it was reported that the Foundation raised $669,571 and made grants totaling $433,807 during the past year.  Its cumulative grant making passed the million dollar mark and has now reached $1.4 million in grants to local nonprofit organizations.
